  1. Thanksgiving Greetings Carswells!

    Hope you guys had a wonderful thanksgiving! I live in Canada so I had my thanksgiving last month. But maybe I should celebrate both holidays since I’m half American anyways! (You can never get enough turkey)

    Just recently I have decided to read The History of Middle-Earth series. Ever Since I finished reading the Silmarillion (Earlier this year) I had thought about reading it. But I was kinda turned off by the mere size and density of it.
    But after hearing from various sources about the material that is in them, I have decided to give it a go. I am now about half-way through The Book of Lost Tales Part 1. And while it is super dense and slow going at times, there are so many cool nuggets to pull out of it. I don’t know how much you have delved into HoME yet. But I hope you guys plan on covering it on the show at some point. I am sure Greta would be up for that! We all know who much she is into the Back-story and minutiae of Tolkien’s works. In fact she has probably already read them all in her spare time. 🙂

    Here are my haiku’s for “The White Rider” Part Deux.

    Galadriel sends
    Messages. Dark are her words.
    Gimli wants one too!

    Imagining war
    He lets loose War. Wise Fool. His
    blindness, his ruin.

    The Dark Lord, nine has
    he. But One have we. Come through
    fire, now white is he.
